Course info

Course Description: This presentation will focus on how rigid thinking can be risky when it comes to language acquisition for children who are Deaf or hard of hearing (DHH). The main argument of this presentation is that professionals who work with DHH children should be flexible and open-minded in their approach to language acquisition with this population. The presentation will explore how a rigid approach might be harmful to these children, as well as how we can transform our practice to be more inclusive, flexible, and open to new ideas. It will include research and evidence-based information to support its education, as well as strategies for practical implementation.
